Shina Balogun

Managing Partner

‘Shina is currently a Partner at Demesne Legal Practitioners. He attended the Nigerian Law School, Bwari, Abuja where he obtained his Barrister at Law degree (B.L).
He is a graduate of Law (LL. B) from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile- Ife. He has worked as an Associate at Akinwunmi & Busari, Legal Practitioners, and Interned at Yusuf O. Ali & Co, Negotiation and Conflict Management Group, and Office of the Public Defender, Lagos State Ministry of Justice. He also worked at Meristem Trustees Limited, overseeing Trust Services and acted as Company Secretary to the subsidiaries of the Meristem group.

Shina currently specializes in Corporate Law Advisory, Estate Planning and Arbitration. He is a Fellow, Institute of Management Consultants, Member of the Nigerian Bar Association (“NBA”), Member, Negotiation and Conflict Management Group {NCMG}, Member, Business Recovery & Insolvency Practitioners Association of Nigeria (BRIPAN), Chartered Institute of Arbitrators UK, Intellectual Property Law Association of Nigeria (“IPLAN”) and Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN).

TRANSACTIONS:

• Shina participated and worked on the Legal team of a Wealth Management Company to the launch of its Mutual Funds.
• He represented a Non-Bank Financial Institution with respect to the structuring and documentation of its =N=10 Billion Debt Issuance programme.
• He participated and played key roles in advising and setting up of Syndicate Lending Trust Offering to a leading FMCG in Nigeria with assets in excess of =N=17 Billion Naira.
• He participated and played key roles in advising and setting of Syndicate Lending Trust Offering to a leading Facility Management Company in Nigeria with assets in excess of =N=50 Billion Naira.
• He participated and played key roles in advising and setting up of Endowment Fund for a foremost Islamic University in Nigeria.
• He participated and played key roles in advising a Leading Tyre Company in Nigeria on a Sale and Lease buy back option to raising working capital.
• He was part of the Liquidator’s team of one of the biggest Telecommunication Servicing Company in West Africa with settlement claims in excess of $10 Million.
• He was also a member of the Liquidators team of a Non-Bank Financial Institution in Nigeria with settlement claims in excess =N=1 Billion Naira.
• He has advised on a number of Trust Offerings and set up for HNIs and Corporations. He advised and acted as Solicitor to the Trustee in a complex mortgage transaction with assets across 12 states in Nigeria and asset in excess of =N=18 Billion Naira.
